When an anonymous student ( Matt) posted the question "why can't I go to the college of my dreams?" I was seeing how it could relate in any way to the book while I was reading. On page 3 she says, "Moonlight can play odd tricks upon the fancy, even upon a dreamer's fancy". Although it has nothing to do with college, it still relates to the idea of dreaming.
I like the whole concept of the dream life vs. reality. Like you said, basing it off what Matt said about his dream college, and when we shut that down and said there is no such thing, it kind of showed the reality of the aspect. Like in the book, when she(narrator) is returning to Manderley, but first can't get through the gates as her real self, and needs to become a sort of spirit to go through. Buuuuuut in real life, she can't return, unlike how she returns in her dream. Why can't she return??? Why is her dream (whether it is good or bad), being crushed in the real world?
